Armstrong Huntsville – Service Business of the Year

Armstrong Relocation – Huntsville prides itself on being a team that raises the bar for outstanding service in the relocation industry and in the community. The chamber selected the winner based on the company’s culture, core values, goals and overall mission, as well as their contributions to the growth and vitality of Huntsville. In the past, Armstrong – Huntsville has held food and supply drives for several local groups, leading as an example of creating an outstanding and generous company culture that continually donates time and resources to community nonprofits.

Additionally, Armstrong – Huntsville was able to use its professional resources and time to help Move for Hunger, a charitable organization that has close ties to the relocation industry. Move for Hunger is a network of socially responsible relocation companies that provides its customers with the opportunity to donate their food when they move. Members of Move for Hunger also volunteer to host or assist with community food drives, participate in cause marketing campaigns, and create employee giving programs. Since 2009, Move for Hunger has delivered more than 16.6 million pounds of food to food banks across the country. By partnering with Move for Hunger, Armstrong – Huntsville has the opportunity to use their everyday business opportunities to find donatable food that can help eliminate waste while providing Americans in need with nutrition.

Armstrong – Huntsville also partners with the Food Bank of North Alabama for this same cause. With the help of local businesses and volunteers, this organization supplies more than 8.9 million pounds of food per year to a network of more than 250 food pantries, shelters and children’s programs across North Alabama. Armstrong – Huntsville jumps at any opportunity to provide willing helpers and relocation tools to collect food, distribute it and play a crucial role in the community to fight hunger.

In addition to these organizations, Armstrong – Huntsville has also provided support for the annual Cotton Row Run, a Memorial Day road race that has been held in Huntsville for four decades. The Cotton Row Run is a well-known Northern Alabama event that not only reminds participants and onlookers of the meaning behind the holiday and the sacrifices brave Americans have made over the years, but also serves as a fundraising event for several charities such as Alabama Gold Star Families, Snowball Express and United States Army Survivor Outreach Services. These charities and the Cotton Row Run help provide veterans and families of fallen soldiers with funding, resources and support to thank them for the incredible sacrifices they have made for our country.

Armstrong – Huntsville’s CEO, Jenny Johnson, accepted the award. “It’s an honor to serve this community and be an integral part of the growth of North Alabama,” Johnson said, “Our team works hard to provide top-notch services to both individual and corporate clients. That sometimes means long days and long nights but we feel like we are really making a difference in this community. Receiving this award solidified our belief. It’s our folks getting out in the trenches day after day getting it done that makes us successful. I’m so excited to be able to lead such a talented, hard-working team!”

This desire to serve their community and go above and beyond their job is part of the culture and DNA of Armstrong. Armstrong instills a company-wide standard of core values that serve as the guiding principles for engaging with each other, the customers and the communities:
