Crown (now known as The Armstrong Company) is a world-class full-service global provider of transportation and relocation services (international transport, commercial relocations, domestic household good transportation, storage and asset management, and automobile transport).
We’ve been serving California for 50+ years
1972 – Crown is founded in San Francisco
1976 – Crown becomes a member of FIDI
1977 – Crown moves from San Francisco to San Leandro
1976 – Crown becomes a member of Omni
1987 – Crown expands operations to Los Angeles
1987 – Robert Bowen founds the Overseas Shippers Association
1995 – Crown earns ISO 9001 quality certification
2008 – Crown expands operations to Sacramento
2008 – Robert Bown is appointed as CEO
2009 – Crown opens Union City warehouse
2013 – Merger with The Armstrong Company
2017 – Tori Ferrante becomes President & CEO
The Armstrong Company has been a stockholding agent of UniGroup, Inc., the parent company of United Van Lines and Mayflower Transit since 1973. After a merger with Armstrong Relocation & Companies in 2013, we are now part of a nationwide network with more than 30 agencies and coast-to-coast U.S. servicing capabilities. Our international forwarding business is independent of any van line affiliation and works through its affiliations with OSA (Overseas Shippers Association), FIDI (the world’s largest transportation organization of its kind) and OMNI (an exclusive organization of prequalified moving companies).
